Delete Your Account
How to delete your Kokoro Nikki data.
Kokoro Nikki does not ask you to create an account: there is no login screen, no password and no email. Your journal is stored on your device. To manage your subscription, an anonymous identifier is created on our backend — it is not linked to your name, email or phone number, and your entries are never attached to it. This page explains how to delete that identifier, everything attached to it, and the journal on your device. Kokoro Nikki is developed by Moreno Preto.
Delete everything from the app
- Open the Kokoro Nikki app.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm by tapping "Delete permanently".
This deletes the anonymous identifier and everything stored against it on our backend, and then erases the journal, the voice recordings and the generated images stored on your device. It happens in one step and it cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you can't use the option inside the app, email us at contact@kokoro-nikki.com with the subject "Delete my account". Because nothing on our backend is linked to an email address, we cannot look you up by yours: tell us which store you subscribed through and roughly when, and we will locate and delete the matching data within 30 days. Note that only the in-app option can erase the journal stored on your device — uninstalling the app also removes it.
What data is deleted
- The anonymous identifier created for your subscription
- The name you chose for the app's greeting, if you entered one
- The records of the Inner Landscapes generated for you
- Your subscription association within the app
- On your device: every journal entry, voice recording, emotion analysis, generated image and export
Data retention
Most data is removed immediately. A small amount may persist briefly for technical or legal reasons:
- Backend data (anonymous identifier, subscription association, landscape records): deleted immediately and permanently.
- Database backups: automatically purged within 30 days.
- Data stored on your device: erased by the same in-app action, or by uninstalling the app.
- Purchases and subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play — we do not store your payment details. Minimal transaction records may be retained where required by law (e.g. tax and accounting) for the legally mandated period.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to erase everything. You can delete individual journal entries inside the app at any time, and you can turn AI analysis off in Settings so that no entry text is ever sent for analysis.
